Dene Films is absolutely delighted to announce that our film 'Ghost Street' has been nominated as ‘Best Short Film’ at the hugely prestigious 2011 New York Festivals – Word’s Best Television & Films Awards.
'Ghost Street' is a road safety film with a twist - the story of a teenage girl who is knocked down by a car only to find herself in a street full of walking talking cadavers. The film was commissioned by Newcastle City Council and Safe Newcastle. It was directed by Steven Boyle, written and produced by Chris Chapman, and executive produced by Steve Salam.
'Ghost Street' beat off entries from 35 countries to become one of 8 finalists – and the only one picked from the UK. It will be announced in March whether the film has picked up Gold, Silver or Bronze - with an official ceremony following in April.
