Beating off competition from 40 countries, Dene Films' nasty little chiller has won the Silver Award for Best Short Film at the New York Festivals Best of Film & Television Awards.
Ghost Street's producer and writer, Chris Chapman, was on hand to pick up the award - which was presented as part of a red carpet ceremony at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
The New York Festivals award is one of the biggest of its kind in the world, and was Dene's first submission to the competition.
Ghost Street was commissioned by Newcastle City Council and Safe Newcastle as a road safety film aimed at teenagers, but has gone on to win RTS and IVCA Awards before scooping the prize at NYF. The film was directed by Steven Boyle and shot on location in Whitley Bay in the North East of England.
The film's producer/writer Chris Chapman commented: "This really is a coup for us. We're all delighted to see the film achieving such recognition, particularly as we had so much fun making it!"
