Dene Films is delighted to announce that it has won its first network TV commission for CBBC and a regional commission for BBC North in Newcastle.
"Stammer School" (working title) is a half hour for CBBC and follows a group of young people as they receive help for speech difficulties at the Michael Palin Centre and will be broadcast in 2011. The film will be directed by Dene Films very own Chris Chapman and produced by Claire Storey-Lambert.
"Corus - one year on" (working title) has been commissioned by BBC North to be shown on the anniversary of the mothballing of the blast furnace in Redcar. Starting with exclusive footage and interviews shot on the last day of steel production, the film follows a group of workers as they adjust to life outside Corus and contrasts this with the attempts to find a buyer for the plant. This film will be produced by Steve Salam and directed by Chris Chapman.
