posted 14th February 2011

Over a year in the making and with a budget of £350,000, Edge of Empire will receive its international premiere at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle on March 1st, before being launched at the revamped Roman Army Museum on Hadrian’s Wall in April. Commissioned by the Vindolanda Trust, who run two museums along the Wall, the educational film tells the action-packed story of Roman soldier, Aquila, and his first tour of duty at the edge of the Roman Empire. Shot in 3D, the film is directed by Steven Boyle and produced by Steve Salam. The film follows in the footsteps of multi award-winning Dene drama such as Ghost Street and The Conkerers.
