Swinging across the Pacific to smash the opposition, Dene Films' multi-award-winning short film 'The Conkerers' has been announced as an official selection at the Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival.
Selected from hundreds of entries, 'The Conkerers' will be screened at the Martin Luther King Theatre in Santa Monica on Sunday 4th October. This is the latest good news in the film's success story that has so far included a Royal Television Society Award for Best Drama, an IVCA Bronze Award for Best Direction and the Bronze Palm at the Mexican International Film Festival. The film was commissioned by Amazing Learning and tells the action-packed and madly comical story of a typical high-school where conker-fighting is banned, only for the playground sport to go underground with the forming of the terrifying Conker Club.
Upon hearing the news, the Film's director, Steven Boyle, commented:
"It's a great thrill to know that my conkers have found their way across the pond – this the film that keeps on giving."
