Vindolanda: filming in the third and fourth dimensions.

posted 28th September 2010

Dene Films has taken its first step into period drama documentary and is working in an additional two dimensions to the normal, with their production of The Eagle’s Eye, Edge of Empire for the Vindolanda Trust.

The two new dimensions are those of 3D (in other words z-space for those in the know), and time, with the film winding the world back to AD 200, when the Northern landscape was dominated by Hadrian's Wall.

Extensive computer graphic recreations will show the wall and Vindolanda in all their majesty, when the film is completed later in 2010. With a cast of 50 including 30 of the magnificent Ermine Street Guard and various barbarians, this educational film will offer visitors to Vindolanda a unique filmic experience in 2011.
