South Tyneside Transformation
Corporate for South Tyneside Council

South Tyneside had embarked on a massive programme of transforming the borough. Dene Films was asked produce a film, which could change the hearts and minds of the local people.

South Tyneside was looking to restore the local surrounds and moral from a neighbourhood that had become despondent with a poorly performing council, to a place that the people of the borough would be proud to be a part of.

Dene Films evoked the spirit of St. Bede, who had lived in the area around AD700 and made the place into an international seat of learning and Christianity.

By shooting evocative lifestyle images of the finer parts of the borough and cutting these with interview footage of people involved in the transformation process, Dene provided a moving film, which was shown at the launch event.

The film was so powerful that it got a standing ovation from the crowd of politicians, press and public who were present.
